The Work Items tab shows all assigned work for you and your team. This guide covers navigating dates, understanding work cards, filtering, and using swipe actions.

The Work Items tab

When you open the Work Items tab, you see:

  • AppBar showing "Work" (or "Work (filtered)" when team or tag filters are applied)
  • Subtitle showing the current status for the selected date
  • Stories row for viewing and sharing stories
  • Horizontal date tabs for date navigation
  • Work cards with time slots showing each work item

Using the date tabs

Swipe left or right on the horizontal date tabs to navigate between days. Tap a specific date to select it.

Loading more dates

  • Tap the + button on the left to load previous dates (available to all users)
  • Tap the + button on the right to load future dates (managers and admins only, role 2+)
  • Staff members (role 1) cannot load future dates

Auto-reset

After 30 minutes of inactivity, the date selection automatically resets to today when you return to the Work Items tab.

Understanding work cards

Each work card displays:

  • Time slot on the left showing start and end times
  • Work name as the card title
  • Team name below the title (with a Users icon)
  • Completion count showing progress (e.g., "7/8" meaning 7 of 8 elements completed), hidden when "0/0"
  • Gradient bleed on the left edge indicating the work status
  • Ellipsis menu on the right (managers and admins only, role 2+) for additional options

Time slots

The time slot column shows:

  • Start time on top (24-hour format, e.g., "09:30")
  • End time below (24-hour format, e.g., "17:00")
  • An arrow icon if work continues from a previous day (continuation indicator)

Recurrence icons

Work cards show an icon in the card header indicating whether the work is recurring:

  • Calendar1 icon (single page) — one-off work
  • CalendarSync icon (with arrows) — recurring work

Issue indicator

Work items with reported issues display a red border around the card.

Virtual work

Work that has not yet been materialised (virtual work) is displayed with grey text. Virtual work items cannot be tapped to open.

Status indicators

Date tab gradients

Each date tab shows a coloured status on its left edge indicating the overall status for that day:

Work counts

Managers and admins can see work counts on each date tab showing how many work items are completed versus total.

Issue indicator on date tabs

Dates with reported issues show a red border around the tab.

AppBar subtitle status

The subtitle below "Work" shows the current day's status:

"All on track"Work is pending but not overdue

Stories row

The stories row appears at the top of the work list:

  • Your story — tap to view your own stories or tap + to add one
  • Other stories — tap any story circle to view that person's stories

Filtering work

Opening the menu

When you are on the Work Items tab, the tab bar icon for Work Items is replaced with a Menu button. Tap the Menu button to open the actions menu.

Filtering by team

  1. Tap the Menu button in the tab bar
  2. Tap Filter work view
  3. Select or deselect teams using the checkboxes
  4. Tap back to return — your filter is applied immediately

When filtering is active, the AppBar title changes to "Work (filtered)".

Swipe actions

Swipe on any work card to access quick actions:

Swipe right — Open work thread

Swipe right to open the work message thread where you can discuss this specific work item with your team.

Swipe left — Direct message

Swipe left to send a direct message to someone about this specific work item. You will be taken to a screen to select who to message.

Viewing individual work

Tap any work card to open the work detail screen where you can:

  • View and complete all work elements (checklists, text inputs, photos, etc.)
  • See the current progress
  • Access the work thread via the Messages button in the floating bar
  • Access the Video library via the floating bar
  • Save your progress if you have unsaved changes
  • Mark Complete the work when all elements are finished
  • Mark issues as Issue Resolved if the work has an issue

AppBar on work detail screen

The AppBar shows:

  • Title: the work name
  • Subtitle: the team name
  • Back button on the left
  • Ellipsis menu on the right (only if work has skip or issue button elements, and work is not yet finished)

Skip and issue options

If the work template includes skip or issue button elements, you can access these from the ellipsis menu in the top right:

  • Skip the rest of this work — marks remaining elements as skipped (confirmation dialog asks you to confirm with Skip)
  • Highlight an issue with this work — reports a problem with this work (confirmation dialog asks you to confirm with Report)

Empty state

When no work is scheduled for the selected date, you will see:

"No work items scheduled for [date]"

"Click the blue button below for the work menu"

This reminds you that the work menu is accessible from the Menu button in the tab bar.

Work by team view

You can view work filtered by a single team with date range filtering:

  1. Tap the Menu button in the tab bar
  2. Tap Export work by team
  3. The AppBar title shows the selected team's name
  4. Optionally set Start Date and End Date to filter the date range
  5. Tap the Download icon in the AppBar to export work data (you will receive an email with the download link)
  6. Tap the Choose Team button in the floating bar to select a different team

Work by tag view

You can view work filtered by a tag:

  1. Tap the Menu button in the tab bar
  2. Tap Export work by tag
  3. The AppBar title shows the selected tag's name
  4. Optionally set Start Date and End Date to filter the date range
  5. Tap the Download icon in the AppBar to export work data
  6. Tap the Change Tag button in the floating bar to select a different tag

Tips

  • Check the Work Items tab daily to stay on top of tasks
  • Use the subtitle to quickly assess the day's status
  • Swipe actions provide quick access to messaging
  • The view auto-resets to today after 30 minutes of inactivity
  • Pull down to refresh the work list
  • Date tabs show counts and status colours for an at-a-glance overview
