Completing work

When you open a work item, you will see the elements that need to be completed. Fill in each one and tap Mark Complete to finish the work.

How to complete work

  1. Go to the Work Items tab
  2. Tap on a work card to open it
  3. Fill in each element as required
  4. Tap Save to save your progress (appears when you have unsaved changes)
  5. Once all elements are complete, tap Mark Complete

Work element types

Different elements require different inputs:

  • Text — type your answer in the text area
  • Number — enter a numeric value (can be positive or negative, toggled with a +/- button)
  • Photo — tap to capture an image using the camera (up to 5 photos per element)
  • File — upload a document from your device
  • Checklist — tick off each item in the list
  • Single choice — select one option from the available choices
  • Multi choice — select one or more options from the available choices
  • Location — capture your current GPS coordinates
  • Date & Time — pick a date and time

Saving progress

Your progress is saved when you tap the Save button in the floating bar at the bottom of the screen. The Save button appears only when you have unsaved changes.

If you try to leave the work screen with unsaved changes, you will see a confirmation dialog:

"Discard changes?"

"You have unsaved changes. Are you sure you want to discard them and leave?"

With options Don't leave and Discard. The back swipe gesture is also disabled when you have unsaved changes to prevent accidental navigation.

Progress indicators

Each element card shows a coloured gradient on the left edge indicating its status:

  • Green — element completed on time
  • Orange — element completed late (after the work end time)
  • Red — element overdue (work end time has passed and element not yet completed)

Skipping work

If work does not need to be completed, you can skip it instead of leaving it incomplete.

How to skip work

  1. Open the work item
  2. Tap the ellipsis menu (three dots) in the top right corner
  3. Select Skip the rest of this work (or the custom label if one was set)
  4. A confirmation dialog appears: "Are you sure you want to skip the rest of this work?"
  5. Tap Skip to confirm

The ellipsis menu and skip option only appear if the work template includes a skip button element and the work is not yet finished.

Reporting an issue

If there is a problem with the work that prevents completion, you can report an issue.

How to report an issue

  1. Open the work item
  2. Tap the ellipsis menu (three dots) in the top right corner
  3. Select Highlight an issue with this work (or the custom label if one was set)
  4. A confirmation dialog appears: "Are you sure you want to report an issue with this work?"
  5. Tap Report to confirm

The ellipsis menu and issue option only appear if the work template includes an issue button element, no issue has already been reported, and the work is not yet finished.

Resolving an issue

When work has an issue, the main action button in the floating bar changes to Issue Resolved. Tap this button when the issue has been addressed. The button is disabled if the work is already finished.

The floating bar at the bottom of the work screen shows different buttons depending on the current state:

The button priority is: Issue Resolved takes precedence over Save, which takes precedence over Mark Complete.

The floating bar also includes quick access icons:

  • Messages (left) — view or send messages about this work item, with a badge count showing unread messages
  • Video (middle) — access the video library

Videos on elements

Some elements may have an attached video for guidance. When a video is available, you will see a video icon and the video title displayed below the element instruction. Tap it to watch the video in the built-in player.

Tips

  • Tap Save regularly to preserve your progress
  • You can leave and return to work in progress at any time
  • Complete work before the end time for the best results
  • If you cannot complete work, consider skipping it rather than leaving it incomplete
  • Managers can view issues and skipped work in the work analytics
