Understand

Kitchens carry some of the highest-risk hazards in any workplace, including hot surfaces, sharp tools, heavy lifting, gas equipment and constant movement. A separate kitchen risk assessment is a legal requirement and should be completed by someone who knows the kitchen well.

Steam, hot oil, boiling water and heated equipment all pose serious burn risks, and controls around safe handling, guarding and PPE provision need to be assessed.
