Contents should be checked regularly and restocked promptly when supplies are used or expire. There must be enough first aid boxes for the number of employees on shift, positioned so every work area has access within reasonable distance.

This may include burn dressings for hot environments, eye wash stations where chemicals are used, or provisions for employees with known medical conditions. Staff must know how to assess a situation, call emergency services, locate the nearest first aid box, and find a trained first aider.
