I wrote this because I keep getting asked what to use instead of YOOBIC. I ran restaurants for years. I know the job: you want the floor to do the work without you chasing every check.

YOOBIC sells an AI-powered retail store operations platform. Store teams log into YOOBIC ONE on a phone, tablet or the web app. They run missions, chat and take mobile courses. HQ builds campaign forms, collects photo proof, scores visits and watches dashboards. AI is an assistant for answers, a Store Manager Copilot for sales priorities and action plans, and a VM Copilot that reviews display photos.

I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla can fetch, decide and act while the work is happening. You keep the judgement calls.

If you want to try it on a process you already run, open the canvas.

I would pick Pilla when I want AI to act inside the work. I would keep YOOBIC when I want store tasks bundled with comms, learning and VM photo scoring. I would look at Zipline when I want HQ-to-store comms and execution.

How did we compare them?

I ask the same twelve questions I use on every vs page. For this shortlist I stayed with frontline ops tools. I put Pilla first because that is the product I built. Zipline is the HQ-to-store comms and Day Sheet product people name next to YOOBIC. Pazo is the photo-led visual merchandising product. Opterus is the associate app with HQ messages, tasks and merch reviews. Ocasta is the comms, knowledge and scored-checks platform. I left out office task apps, Zapier-style automation, and rota products. I read their public docs on 16 September 2026. Where they stay quiet, I stay quiet.

I am Liam Jones. I founded Pilla after more than ten years running hospitality operations, food safety and frontline teams. On 16 September 2026 I sat with YOOBIC's homepage, task management, communications, learning, the copilots, the public API, integrations and the pricing page, then with Zipline Day Sheet, Zippy MCP posts and pricing, Pazo platform, visual merchandising, pricing and App Store notes, Opterus Task Manager, Message Center and Where Opterus Shines, and Ocasta hubs and pricing. Zipline public help is login-gated. I could not find a Pazo public help centre. There is no public Opterus help centre. I have not lived in a paid YOOBIC, Zipline, Pazo, Opterus or Ocasta account for this write-up. I am telling you what their docs say.

What should you take away?

  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow the process without me chasing every check
  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the work checked as it comes in, and followed up when something needs me
  • I would keep YOOBIC if I needed retail store ops, comms, learning and VM photo scoring from one vendor
  • I would look at Zipline if I needed HQ-to-store comms and a Day Sheet

I built Pilla for AI work management on the floor. YOOBIC sells an AI-powered retail store operations platform. The other names on this page are real substitutes for part of that job, not clones.

What is YOOBIC, and why look elsewhere?

YOOBIC holds opening, visual merchandising, promo and compliance work in one place. You prove it with photos, scores and geotagged capture. You coach from visits with action plans. You push a newsfeed plus 1:1 and group chat. You train with a gamified LMS. Copilots brief managers and flag bad displays. Store teams log into YOOBIC ONE on a phone, tablet or the web app. HQ builds campaign forms.

People look for a YOOBIC alternative when they want AI inside the run, a published price, a visual canvas, or they do not want to buy learning, the newsfeed and VM Copilot from the same vendor. Some stay because that retail suite is the job.

I would keep YOOBIC if I needed retail store ops, comms, learning and VM photo scoring from one vendor. That suite is a fair reason to stay.

Price: No public software price. Sales quote.

Trial: Demo, product tour or 4-week proof of value. No advertised self-serve trial.

Why people stay

  • Tasks, comms and learning in one store ops platform
  • VM Copilot reviews display photos
  • 1:1 and group chat, plus a newsfeed
  • Public REST API and 200-plus integrations

Why people look

  • No public software price
  • I could not find an AI step inside a campaign the worker is running
  • I could not find a YOOBIC MCP server
  • I could not find video, audio, file upload or signatures as mission fields
  • You pay by stores, locations or users and modules

What are the best YOOBIC alternatives?

1. Pilla

Operators who want AI to act inside the work

I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla checks the work as it comes in and follows up when something needs you. You keep the judgement calls. I did not build shift scheduling, payroll, HR, an LMS or visual-merchandising photo AI. If you need those, keep them on YOOBIC or another vendor. You can open it the same day. Starter is £49 a month with 500 processed workflows. Pro is £99 with 1,000, and adds AI automations inside Pilla. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of every Pro feature, with no card. People are unlimited.

  • DMs and group chats next to the work
  • MCP server, API and integrations
  • Unlimited people, billed on processed workflows

Cons

  • No LMS, newsfeed or VM Copilot
  • No store-visit scoring suite
  • You rebuild campaigns on the canvas
  • Photos and history stay in YOOBIC unless you move them

Price: Starter £49 / 500 workflows. Pro £99 / 1,000. 14-day Pro trial, no card.

2. Zipline

Retail brands that want HQ-to-store comms and execution

I would look at Zipline when I want HQ-to-store comms and execution. HQ publishers send targeted messages and tasks onto the Day Sheet. You open one app for comms, a daily checklist, the Resource Library, audits, learning and Zippy. You track readership and photo proof. Zippy answers from the brand library, and as of 2026 it can call customer MCP servers. I could not find an AI step inside a Day Sheet task. I could not find a Zipline MCP server for other tools to call. They quote you. Public help is login-gated.

Pros

  • Day Sheet, HQ messages and photo proof together
  • Messenger DMs and Groups
  • Resource Library and Zippy
  • Zippy can call customer MCP servers

Cons

  • No public software price
  • I could not find an AI step inside a Day Sheet task
  • I could not find a Zipline MCP server for other tools to call
  • Public help is login-gated

Price: No public software price. Sales quote. Demo and quote.

Pilla vs Zipline

3. Pazo

Teams that want photo-led visual merchandising and store tasks

I would look at Pazo when I want photo-led visual merchandising with tickets and store chat. Staff run digital checklists and workflows, take live photos, and often video or audio. An AI agent can score a shelf photo against a planogram, then open a ticket if it fails. Chat, broadcasts, training and ticketing sit in the same app. They quote you by locations, users and modules. A 15-day trial is advertised.

Pros

  • Planogram photo scoring on a workflow step
  • Checklists, tickets and chat together
  • Photos, video and audio on the work
  • 15-day trial advertised

Cons

  • No public software price
  • I could not find an MCP server
  • I could not find a public API reference
  • I could not find a drawn signature field

Price: No public software price. Sales quote. 15-day trial advertised.

Pilla vs Pazo

4. Opterus

Retail HQ that wants store comms, tasks and merch execution

I would look at Opterus when I want HQ-to-store comms, tasks and merch execution in one associate app. HQ sends targeted messages with read receipts, assigns multi-step tasks, and ships planograms with photo merch reviews. I could not find an AI step inside a task. They quote you all-inclusive, with no extra fees for users claimed. A custom trial setup can be provided in a few days.

Pros

  • HQ messages with read receipts plus associate chat
  • Planograms and merch photo reviews
  • All-inclusive quote with no extra user fees claimed
  • Custom trial setup in a few days

Cons

  • No public software price
  • I could not find an AI step inside a task
  • I could not find an Opterus MCP server
  • I could not find a public API reference

Price: No public software price. Sales quote. Custom trial setup offered.

Pilla vs Opterus

5. Ocasta

Retail and field teams that want comms, knowledge, checks and coaching

I would look at Ocasta when I want comms, knowledge, scored checks and coaching in one branded app. Five hubs snap together or run solo: comms and tasks, knowledge and learning, inspections and checklists, new starter, and observations and coaching. I could not find DMs or group channels. I could not find a public software price. Live pricing does not advertise a self-serve trial.

Pros

  • Comms, knowledge and scored inspections together
  • Photo, signature and geotagged proof
  • Unique reads on targeted news
  • Price emailed within 24 hours

Cons

  • No public software price
  • I could not find DMs or group chats
  • I could not find an MCP server
  • Live pricing does not advertise a self-serve trial

Price: No public software price. Sales quote. Founder demo. No advertised self-serve trial.

Pilla vs Ocasta

Which should you pick?

If I ran a retail chain that needed store tasks, field visits, VM photo scoring, frontline chat and a gamified LMS from one vendor, I would keep YOOBIC. That suite is a fair reason to stay. If I wanted the work drawn on a canvas and AI acting inside the run, with MCP, I would use Pilla, and I would keep the LMS, newsfeed and VM Copilot somewhere else. If the job is HQ-to-store comms and a Day Sheet, I would look at Zipline. If the job is photo-led merchandising with tickets, I would look at Pazo.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best YOOBIC alternative?

I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow a process, with the work checked as it comes in. I would keep YOOBIC if I needed store tasks, comms, learning and VM photo scoring from one vendor. I would look at Zipline for HQ-to-store comms and a Day Sheet, Pazo for photo-led merchandising, Opterus for HQ messages, tasks and merch reviews, and Ocasta for comms, knowledge and scored checks.

How much do these YOOBIC alternatives cost?

YOOBIC quotes you. I could not find a public software price. Pilla is Starter at £49 a month with 500 processed workflows, and Pro at £99 with 1,000. People are unlimited. Zipline, Pazo, Opterus and Ocasta quote you. Pazo advertises a 15-day trial. YOOBIC offers a 4-week proof of value.

Does switching from YOOBIC replace learning and store visits?

No. I did not build Pilla as an LMS or as visual-merchandising photo AI, and I left shift scheduling out on purpose. If you need YOOBIC's courses, badges, newsfeed or visit-scoring stack, keep those on YOOBIC or another product. Zipline sells HQ messages, a Resource Library and learning. Pazo sells planogram photo scoring.

Does YOOBIC have AI inside the task the way Pilla does?

I could not find an AI step that fetches, decides or acts inside the campaign the worker is running. VM Copilot can score photos inside a VM workflow. Copilots create or recommend follow-up work for managers. Rules can trigger the next task.

How did you pick this shortlist?

I stayed with frontline ops tools and used the same twelve questions I use on every vs page. I read public docs on 16 September 2026. I left out office task apps, Zapier-style automation, and rota products. The deep tables live on the vs pages linked from each name.

Where did these facts come from?

YOOBIC and peer claims on this page come from their own public docs. Pilla claims come from the current product.
