I wrote this because I keep getting asked what to use instead of GoSpotCheck. I ran restaurants for years. I know the job: you want the floor to do the work without you chasing every check.

FORM acquired GoSpotCheck in 2020. You still log into the GoSpotCheck app. Their marketing still lives on gospotcheck.com as a FORM company. FORM OpX is a separate product. You build Missions, collect photo and signature proof, and you can add image recognition, PhotoWorks, Insights and a Communications hub if you buy those add-ons.

I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla can fetch, decide and act while the work is happening. You keep the judgement calls.

If you want to try it on a process you already run, open the canvas.

I would pick Pilla when I want AI to act inside the work. I would keep GoSpotCheck when I want field missions bundled with shelf photo AI. I would look at Repsly when I want store visits bundled with field orders and shelf image recognition.

How did we compare them?

I ask the same twelve questions I use on every vs page. For this shortlist I stayed with frontline ops tools. I put Pilla first because that is the product I built. Repsly is the CPG field-execution product people name next to GoSpotCheck. YOOBIC is the retail store ops suite with missions, comms, learning and VM photo scoring. Pazo is the photo-led visual merchandising product. Zipline is the HQ-to-store comms and execution product. I left out office task apps, Zapier-style automation, and rota products. I read their public docs on 16 September 2026. Where they stay quiet, I stay quiet.

I am Liam Jones. I founded Pilla after more than ten years running hospitality operations, food safety and frontline teams. On 16 September 2026 I sat with GoSpotCheck's current help: task types, the Mission Builder, picture and signature tasks, conditional tasks, Advanced Logic, InfoURLs, Jobs, mobile navigation and the public pricing card. I then sat with Repsly form help, messenger and pricing, YOOBIC product pages, copilots, public API and pricing, Pazo platform, visual merchandising, pricing and App Store notes, and Zipline Day Sheet, Messenger, Zippy MCP and pricing pages. Zipline public help is login-gated. I could not find a Pazo public help centre. I have not lived in a paid GoSpotCheck, Repsly, YOOBIC, Pazo or Zipline account for this write-up. I am telling you what their docs say.

What should you take away?

  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow the process without me chasing every check
  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the work checked as it comes in, and followed up when something needs me
  • I would keep GoSpotCheck if I needed field missions plus shelf photo AI, PhotoWorks and Looker from one vendor
  • I would look at Repsly if I needed store visits, field orders and shelf image recognition from one vendor

I built Pilla for AI work management on the floor. GoSpotCheck sells field missions with image recognition for retail execution. The other names on this page are real substitutes for part of that job, not clones.

What is GoSpotCheck, and why look elsewhere?

GoSpotCheck holds store-visit, merchandising, promo and audit Missions in one place. You prove the work with live photos and geo-stamps. You survey shelves with image recognition, score the visit, and watch PhotoWorks and Looker Insights. You escalate misses with alerts and follow-up Jobs. Bluetooth thermometers sit on temperature tasks. FORM acquired GoSpotCheck in 2020. In September 2026 you still log into the GoSpotCheck app and the admin web app at admin.gospotcheck.com. Marketing still lives on gospotcheck.com as a FORM company. FORM OpX is a separate product.

People look for a GoSpotCheck alternative when they want AI inside the run, DMs next to the work, an MCP server, or they do not want to pay per user with a 20-user minimum. Some stay because that retail execution stack is the job.

I would keep GoSpotCheck if I needed field missions plus shelf photo AI, PhotoWorks and Looker from one vendor. That retail execution stack is a fair reason to stay.

Price: Essentials from $40 per user per month, 20-user minimum. Pro and Enterprise are quotes.

Trial: Talk to sales and book a demo. FORM has a Start Trial page with no advertised length.

Why people stay

  • Missions, photo proof, signatures, scores and geo-stamps in one field app
  • Image recognition on shelves, coolers, menus, taps and back bars
  • PhotoWorks and Looker Insights if you buy those add-ons
  • Public Essentials price from $40 per user

Why people look

  • Per-user price with a 20-user minimum
  • I could not find an AI step that fetches, decides or acts inside a Mission
  • I could not find a chat tab in the live mobile navigation help
  • I could not find video, audio or file upload as task types
  • Image recognition, PhotoWorks and Insights cost extra

What are the best GoSpotCheck alternatives?

1. Pilla

Operators who want AI to act inside the work

I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla checks the work as it comes in and follows up when something needs you. You keep the judgement calls. I did not build shift scheduling, payroll, HR, shelf computer vision or PhotoWorks. If you need those, keep them on GoSpotCheck or another vendor. You can open it the same day. Starter is £49 a month with 500 processed workflows. Pro is £99 with 1,000, and adds AI automations inside Pilla. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of every Pro feature, with no card. People are unlimited.

Cons

  • No shelf photo AI, PhotoWorks or Looker
  • No Bluetooth thermometer pairing

Pilla vs GoSpotCheck

2. Repsly

CPG and retail-service teams who need shelf visits, orders and image recognition

I would look at Repsly when I want store visits bundled with field orders and shelf image recognition. Field reps check into stores on iPhone, iPad or Android. They fill surveys, take shelf photos, place orders and log the workday. Managers schedule visits, watch the activity feed and photo gallery, and can add ShelfScan and Territory Advisor. I could not find a public software price. Their pricing FAQ says there is no free trial.

Pros

  • Store visits, forms and field orders together
  • 1:1 and group messenger
  • ShelfScan image recognition as an add-on
  • Public REST API

Cons

  • No public software price
  • 12-month annual contract
  • Pricing FAQ says no free trial
  • I could not find an MCP server

Price: No public software price. Sales quote. Product tour or proof of concept.

Pilla vs Repsly

3. YOOBIC

Retail chains that want tasks, comms, learning and store AI in one app

I would look at YOOBIC when I want store tasks bundled with comms, learning and VM photo scoring. Store teams log into YOOBIC ONE on a phone, tablet or the web app. They run missions, chat and take mobile courses. HQ builds campaign forms, collects photo proof, scores visits and watches dashboards. I could not find a public software price. They offer a demo, a product tour or a 4-week proof of value.

Pros

  • Missions, comms and learning in one app
  • 1:1 and group chat plus a newsfeed
  • VM Copilot on display photos
  • Public REST API

Cons

  • No public software price
  • I could not find an MCP server
  • I could not find an AI step inside the campaign the worker is running
  • I could not find a self-serve trial

Price: No public software price. Sales quote. 4-week proof of value.

Pilla vs YOOBIC

4. Pazo

Teams that want photo-led visual merchandising and store tasks

I would look at Pazo when I want photo-led visual merchandising with tickets and store chat. Staff run digital checklists, take live photos, and often video or audio. An AI agent can score a shelf photo against a planogram, then open a ticket if it fails. Chat, broadcasts and training sit in the same app. They quote you. A 15-day trial is advertised. I could not find a public help centre.

Pros

  • Photo-led planogram scoring
  • 1:1, team and broadcast chat
  • Tickets when a photo fails
  • 15-day trial advertised

Cons

  • No public software price
  • I could not find a public help centre
  • I could not find an MCP server or a public API reference
  • I could not find a drawn signature field

Price: No public software price. Sales quote. 15-day trial advertised.

Pilla vs Pazo

5. Zipline

Retail brands that want HQ-to-store comms and execution

I would look at Zipline when I want HQ-to-store comms and execution. HQ publishers send targeted messages and tasks onto the Day Sheet. You open one app for comms, a daily checklist, the Resource Library, audits, learning and Zippy. Zippy answers from the brand library, and as of 2026 it can call customer MCP servers. They quote you. Public help is login-gated.

Pros

  • HQ messages, Day Sheet and photo proof together
  • Messenger DMs and Groups
  • Zippy can call customer MCP servers
  • Resource Library next to the work

Cons

  • No public software price
  • Public help is login-gated
  • I could not find a Zipline MCP server for other tools to call
  • No advertised self-serve trial

Price: No public software price. Sales quote.

Pilla vs Zipline

Which should you pick?

If I ran a CPG, retail or beverage field team that needed store-visit Missions plus computer vision on shelves, coolers, menus and back bars, with PhotoWorks and Looker on top, I would keep GoSpotCheck. That retail execution stack, including Bluetooth temperature capture, is a fair reason to stay. If I wanted the work drawn on a canvas and AI acting inside the run, with DMs and MCP, I would use Pilla, and I would keep shelf photo AI somewhere else. If the job is CPG visits plus field orders, I would look at Repsly. If the job is HQ-to-store comms and a Day Sheet, I would look at Zipline.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best GoSpotCheck alternative?

I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow a process, with the work checked as it comes in. I would keep GoSpotCheck if I needed field missions plus shelf photo AI, PhotoWorks and Looker from one vendor. I would look at Repsly for CPG visits and field orders, YOOBIC for retail tasks plus comms and learning, Pazo for photo-led visual merchandising, and Zipline for HQ-to-store comms and a Day Sheet.

Is GoSpotCheck still GoSpotCheck after FORM?

Yes. FORM acquired GoSpotCheck in 2020. In September 2026 you still log into the GoSpotCheck app and the admin web app at admin.gospotcheck.com. Marketing still lives on gospotcheck.com as a FORM company. FORM OpX is a separate product.

How much do these GoSpotCheck alternatives cost?

GoSpotCheck Essentials starts at $40 per user per month with a 20-user minimum. Pro and Enterprise are quotes. Image Recognition, PhotoWorks, Insights and Communications are listed as add-ons. Pilla is Starter at £49 a month with 500 processed workflows, and Pro at £99 with 1,000. People are unlimited. Repsly, YOOBIC, Pazo and Zipline quote you.

Does switching from GoSpotCheck replace image recognition and PhotoWorks?

No. I did not build Pilla as shelf computer vision, PhotoWorks or Looker. If you need SKU-level display AI, keep that on GoSpotCheck or another product. Repsly sells ShelfScan as an add-on. YOOBIC sells VM Copilot. Pazo scores shelf photos against a planogram.

How did you pick this shortlist?

I stayed with frontline ops tools and used the same twelve questions I use on every vs page. I read public docs on 16 September 2026. I left out office task apps, Zapier-style automation, and rota products. The deep tables live on the vs pages linked from each name.

Where did these facts come from?

GoSpotCheck and peer claims on this page come from their own public docs. Pilla claims come from the current product.
