Pilla vs Repsly (2026): AI that acts inside the work, or retail execution for CPG field teams
I wrote this because I keep getting asked whether Pilla replaces Repsly. I ran restaurants for years. I know the job: you want the floor to do the work without you chasing every check.
Repsly sells retail execution software to CPG brands and retail service providers. Field reps check into stores on iPhone, iPad or Android. They fill surveys, take shelf photos, place orders and log the workday. Managers schedule visits in the web portal, watch the activity feed and photo gallery, and can add ShelfScan image recognition and Territory Advisor.
I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla can fetch, decide and act while the work is happening. You keep the judgement calls.
If you want to try it on a process you already run, open the canvas.
I would pick Pilla when I want AI to act inside the work. I would pick Repsly when I want store visits bundled with field orders and shelf image recognition.
How did we compare them?
I ask the same twelve questions on every comparison. For Pilla I describe what the product does today. For Repsly I went back to their help, product pages, pricing and API docs on 16 September 2026. Where they stay quiet, I stay quiet.
I am Liam Jones. I founded Pilla after more than ten years running hospitality operations, food safety and frontline teams. On 16 September 2026 I sat with Repsly's current help: how to create a form, multi-photo questions, electronic signatures, visit tasks, messenger, GPS on activities and the API. I also read the pricing page, ShelfScan and Territory Advisor. I have not lived in a paid Repsly account for this write-up. I am telling you what their docs say.
What should you take away?
- I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow the process without me chasing every check
- I would pick Pilla if I wanted the work checked as it comes in, and followed up when something needs me
- I would keep Repsly if I needed store visits, field orders and shelf image recognition from one vendor
- I would not switch expecting Pilla to take over order entry, POS feeds or visit routing

Why do people like Pilla?
You open Pilla on the phone you already carry. You see the next step, read how to do it, take the photo or sign, and move on. The record lands while you work. Pilla checks it against the rules you set and follows up when something needs you.
I hear the same thing from managers: they draw the process once and stop asking all day whether it happened. The team likes it because they can see what good looks like before they start.
“Pilla helps me have a day off knowing that procedures will be followed”

When does switching from Repsly to Pilla make sense?
- You want Pilla to check the work as it comes in
- You want to draw the process on a canvas and branch it
- You want a photo, a video, audio or a file sitting on the step itself
- You want an MCP server
- You want to pay for workflows with as many people as you need
- You are happy to keep field orders, POS feeds, visit routing and ShelfScan somewhere else
What do you pay for?
| Capability | Pilla | Repsly |
|---|---|---|
| What you pay for | Unlimited users, usage based on workflows | Quote by named users and plan; 12-month annual |
| Public price | Starter is £49 a month for 500 processed workflows. Pro is £99 a month for 1,000. | No public software price. Sales quote. |
| Trial | 14-day free trial of every Pro feature, with no card | No advertised self-serve trial. Product tour or proof of concept. |
Repsly names four plans, Core, Grow, Scale and Flex, with add-ons for SSO, integrations, Territory Advisor and AI Image Recognition. They bill authorized users on the order. Contracts are a 12-month minimum with annual upfront payment, by card, ACH or wire. Unlimited users is not claimed. Their pricing FAQ says there is no free trial. Legal also describes demo accounts. I have left third-party dollar figures off this page.
How long does setup take, and how hard is it?
You can open Pilla the same day. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of Pro, with no card. I usually see a first opening or closing workflow take an afternoon. Repsly starts with a demo and a quote. Their pricing FAQ says there is no free trial. Sales offers a product tour or a proof of concept. Forms can go live quickly. Visit routing, POS feeds and ShelfScan take a real rollout.
If you move, you rebuild the forms on the canvas. Photos and history stay in Repsly unless you export them by hand. Run both for a while. Keep order entry, POS feeds, visit routing, GPS mileage and ShelfScan on Repsly or another vendor. I did not build Pilla to do field sales orders, retailer POS or shift scheduling.
Does the answer change by budget or size?
If you only need a process on a canvas and you want to try something today, start with Pilla. If you run CPG field teams and you need store visits, field orders and shelf image recognition from one vendor, stay with Repsly. If money is tight, I publish prices. Repsly quotes you, with a 12-month annual contract. If you want AI in the run and an MCP server, I would pick Pilla even in a small team.
What is each one used for?
Repsly works well for
- Merchandising surveys, planogram photos and replenishment orders
- Promotion display checks with photo proof and partner dashboards
- Field sales catalog, barcode order entry, returns and sell sheets
- Retail audits of availability, price and promotion by SKU
- ShelfScan aisle photos to availability insights and 24-hour reports
- Territory Advisor coverage checks and recommended rebalances
- Retail-service projects, job board, pay and client reporting
- GPS time and mileage logs for reimbursement
Pilla works well for
- Opening and closing the team can follow on their phone
- Showing someone how to do a step with writing, a photo or a video
- Collecting photos, video, audio, files and signatures as the work happens
- Letting AI fetch, decide and act while the run is live
- Following up yourself, or letting Pilla follow up
- Talking in DMs and group chats next to the work
- Connecting other software through MCP, API and integrations
- Paying for workflows with as many people as you need
What is Repsly designed to do?
Repsly gets the right rep to the right store on a cadence. You prove planogram, availability and promotion work with photos and forms. You scan a shelf with ShelfScan when the brand buys image recognition. You enter orders and returns from the aisle. You share planograms from the file library. You coach from the live map and messenger. I would stay on Repsly for that retail execution suite, including visit scheduling, GPS time and mileage, the job board and POS feeds.
What is Pilla designed to do?
I built Pilla so you can turn the processes you already know into workflows on a canvas. Your team follows them on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla checks completed work and handles the follow-up you configured. You keep judgement, coaching and the awkward calls. I left shift scheduling, payroll and HR out on purpose.
What differences actually matter?
How do they check the work?
On Pilla I put AI fetching, decisions and actions in the run. On Repsly, ShelfScan reads shelf photos and can return availability issues in under 60 seconds. Forms check with mandatory questions, skip logic and email alerts. Territory Advisor recommends coverage changes a person applies. I could not find an AI step that fetches, decides and acts inside a designed run.
How do you design the work?
On Pilla you draw a visual canvas with branching and reuse the workflow. On Repsly you build a form in the web portal, hide questions with parent and child logic, and schedule visit tasks. Recurrence is a visit cadence. I could not find a visual node canvas.
How do you provide guidance?
On Pilla you sit written, photo and video guidance beside each step. On Repsly you attach documents, images and files from the File Library, put files in section headers, and add task instructions. I could not find a dedicated video-guidance step.
How does the team talk?
On Pilla you get DMs and group chats, including on a workflow. Repsly messenger is 1:1 and named groups, with photos and @mentions, from the mobile app and the web portal. Managers also comment on activities such as photos.
How do they connect other software?
Pilla publishes an MCP server, a REST API and integrations. Repsly documents REST APIs for visits, forms, photos, orders, users and schedules, plus Salesforce, Dynamics, SAP, Netsuite and retailer POS. I could not find a Repsly MCP server.
What are you paying for?
On Pilla you pay for processed workflows, with unlimited people, and you get a 14-day trial of every Pro feature with no card. Repsly quotes you for named users on Core, Grow, Scale or Flex, with a 12-month annual contract. I could not find a public software price.
Which should you pick?
If I ran a CPG brand or retail service agency that needed store visits, shelf photos, field orders, POS and optional image recognition from one vendor, I would keep Repsly. Visit scheduling, GPS time and mileage, the job board and ShelfScan are a fair reason to stay. If I wanted the work drawn on a canvas and AI acting inside the run, with MCP, I would use Pilla, and I would keep orders, POS and routing somewhere else.
Frequently asked questions
Is Repsly an AI work-management product?
No. It is retail execution software for CPG field teams and retail service providers. The work is store visits, surveys, shelf photos, orders and field reporting. AI is sold as ShelfScan on shelf photos and Territory Advisor on coverage, not as AI work management on a canvas.
Does Repsly have AI inside the work?
ShelfScan reads shelf photos and can return availability issues in under 60 seconds. Territory Advisor recommends coverage changes a person applies. Forms check with rules, mandatory questions and email alerts. I could not find an AI step that fetches, decides or acts inside a designed run, or an MCP server.
Can staff chat in Repsly the way they would in Pilla?
Yes. Messenger supports 1:1 chats and named groups, with photos and @mentions, from the mobile app and the web portal. Managers also comment on activities such as photos. Email alerts are separate.
What evidence can a Repsly form capture?
Help lists short and long text, numeric, yes/no, selection, single and multiple photos, date, barcode, product, section header and matrix. You can add an electronic signature on forms and orders. GPS is stamped on the activity. I could not find a video, audio, file-upload or dedicated ratings field in the form builder.
How much does Repsly cost compared to Pilla?
Repsly quotes you. I could not find a public software price. Plans are Core, Grow, Scale and Flex, billed for authorized users on a 12-month annual contract. Add-ons include integrations, Territory Advisor and AI Image Recognition. Their pricing FAQ says there is no free trial. I do not charge per person. Starter is £49 a month with 500 processed workflows included. Pro is £99 a month with 1,000 included, and adds AI automations inside Pilla. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of every Pro feature, with no card.
Does switching to Pilla replace Repsly orders, POS and visit routing?
No. I did not build Pilla for field sales order entry, retailer POS or territory routing, and I left shift scheduling, payroll and HR out on purpose. If you need those jobs, keep them on Repsly or another retail-execution product.
How long does it take to switch from Repsly to Pilla?
You rebuild the forms on the canvas. A first workflow usually takes an afternoon. Running both side by side can take days or a couple of weeks, depending on how many forms you have. Photos and history stay in Repsly unless you move them by hand.
How did you compare Pilla and Repsly?
I read Repsly public docs on 16 September 2026 and answered the same twelve questions I use on every comparison. I described Pilla as it works today. I left out anything Repsly does not publish.
Where did these facts come from?
Repsly claims on this page come from their own public docs. Pilla claims come from the current product.
