I wrote this because I keep getting asked how SiteDocs and 4insite compare. I ran restaurants for years. I know the job: you want the floor to do the work without you chasing every check.

Nemetschek bought GoCanvas in 2024, and SiteDocs came with it. You still log into SiteDocs. You build digital safety forms, collect GPS-stamped signatures and photos, track certifications, and you can add Analytics and Workflow Studio if you buy those add-ons.

4insite LLC was founded in 2019 with SBM Management as the primary user. You still log into app.4insite.com. The public floor app is 4iGo. You load a Scope of Work, run routes and audits, and you prove service with QR, photos and attestations. Work orders, scorecards and translated messages sit in the same platform.

I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla can fetch, decide and act while the work is happening. You keep the judgement calls.

If you want to try it on a process you already run, open the canvas.

I would keep SiteDocs when I want a construction safety programme with GPS-stamped signatures, certifications and contractor Lite. I would keep 4insite when I want a facilities suite for Scope of Work, audits, work orders and scorecards. I would pick Pilla when I want AI to act inside the work.

How did we compare them?

I ask the same twelve questions on every comparison. For SiteDocs I went back to their help and pricing. For 4insite I went back to their public marketing, pricing, store listings and SBM's 4insite pages. I read those public docs on 16 September 2026. Where they stay quiet, I stay quiet.

I am Liam Jones. I founded Pilla after more than ten years running hospitality operations, food safety and frontline teams. On 16 September 2026 I sat with SiteDocs help: Form Item Descriptions, collapsible and repeatable sections, Follow-Up Forms, Direct Chats, Location Chats, Topics, signatures, the Public API, Workflow Studio and the pricing page, then with 4insite's homepage, solutions, pricing grid, privacy policy, the 4iGo App Store and Google Play listings, and SBM's pages about their 4insite platform. I could not find a public 4insite help centre. I have not lived in a paid SiteDocs or 4insite account for this write-up. I am telling you what their public docs say.

What should you take away?

  • I would keep SiteDocs if I needed construction safety forms, certifications and contractor Lite from one vendor
  • I would keep 4insite if I needed Scope of Work, service validation, audits and scorecards from one vendor
  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow the process without me chasing every check
  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the work checked as it comes in, and followed up when something needs me

SiteDocs sells construction safety management for digital forms, certifications and audits. 4insite sells facilities work management for Scope of Work, audits, work orders and scorecards. They overlap on photos, checklists and a phone app. They split on GPS-stamped signatures and certifications versus routes, QR validation and scorecards. I built Pilla for a different job: AI acting inside the run.

What is SiteDocs, and when should you keep it?

SiteDocs holds toolbox talks, JSAs, inspections, incidents and orientations as signed digital forms. You prove who signed, when and where. You flag a follow-up, keep certifications from expiring, and let a contractor sign through Lite. The field app works offline. Nemetschek bought GoCanvas in 2024, and SiteDocs came with it. You still log into SiteDocs.

I would keep SiteDocs if I needed construction safety forms, certifications and contractor Lite from one vendor. That programme is a fair reason to stay.

Price: No public software price. Sales quote.

Trial: Demo and quote. Terms mention a granted free trial. No advertised self-serve trial.

Why people stay on SiteDocs

  • Toolbox talks, inspections and incidents as signed forms
  • GPS-stamped signatures and certifications in the same product
  • Contractor Lite by link or QR
  • Direct chats, Location chats and Topics
  • Field app works offline

Why people look

  • No public software price
  • I could not find an AI step inside a form
  • I could not find a video or stored-audio form item
  • Analytics and Workflow Studio cost extra

What is 4insite, and when should you keep it?

4insite holds a contracted Scope of Work across buildings and rooms. You prove daily service with QR logs, photos and end-of-service checks. You walk audits and assign the misses. Occupants and associates raise issues that become work orders. You keep vendors, complaints and KPIs on a dashboard. 4insite LLC was founded in 2019 with SBM Management as the primary user. You still log into app.4insite.com. The public floor app is 4iGo.

I would keep 4insite if I needed Scope of Work, service validation, audits and scorecards from one vendor. Clock-in, bonus scorecards and vendor billing are a fair reason to stay.

Price: Starter $39 per user per month. Professional $79. Enterprise quote.

Trial: Demo. No advertised self-serve trial.

Why people stay on 4insite

  • Scope of Work, routes and audits in one product
  • QR, photos and attestations for service proof
  • Work orders and scorecards in the same vendor
  • Public Starter and Professional prices

Why people look

  • You pay per user
  • I could not find an AI step inside a route, audit or attestation
  • I could not find DMs or group chats
  • I could not find a public API reference
  • Phone hardware costs extra

When is Pilla the third option?

If the job is construction safety forms, certifications and contractor Lite, keep SiteDocs. If the job is Scope of Work, audits, work orders and scorecards, keep 4insite. I built Pilla for a different job. You draw the process on a canvas. The team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla checks the work as it comes in and follows up when something needs you. I did not build shift scheduling, payroll, HR, certification registers or vendor billing. If you need those, keep them on SiteDocs, 4insite or another vendor. You can open Pilla the same day. Starter is £49 a month with 500 processed workflows. Pro is £99 with 1,000, and adds AI automations inside Pilla. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of every Pro feature, with no card. People are unlimited.

Which should you pick?

I would keep SiteDocs if I needed construction safety forms, certifications and contractor Lite from one vendor. I would keep 4insite if I needed Scope of Work, service validation, audits and scorecards from one vendor. If I wanted the work drawn on a canvas and AI acting inside the run, with DMs and MCP, I would use Pilla, and I would keep certifications, contractor Lite, clock-in and vendor billing somewhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Is SiteDocs the same as 4insite?

No. They overlap on photos, checklists and a phone app. SiteDocs is built around construction safety forms, GPS-stamped signatures, certifications and contractor Lite. 4insite is built around facilities Scope of Work, routes, audits, work orders and scorecards, and they publish a per-user price.

Is SiteDocs still SiteDocs after GoCanvas and Nemetschek?

Yes. Nemetschek bought GoCanvas in 2024, and SiteDocs came with it. In September 2026 the product is still SiteDocs. Help and marketing sit on sitedocs.com. SiteDocs Safety ULC is a GoCanvas company in the Nemetschek Group.

Is 4insite still 4insite?

Yes. 4insite LLC was founded in 2019 with SBM Management as the primary user. In September 2026 you still log into app.4insite.com. The public floor listing is 4iGo. SBM still calls it our 4insite platform and sends clients to that login.

How much do SiteDocs and 4insite cost?

SiteDocs quotes you. I could not find a public software price. They say the subscription is annual and based on company size, with no individual user fees and unlimited forms and signatures. Analytics and Workflow Studio are add-ons. 4insite publishes Starter at $39 per user per month and Professional at $79, then quotes Enterprise. Pilla is Starter at £49 a month with 500 processed workflows, and Pro at £99 with 1,000. People are unlimited.

Where does Pilla fit if I am comparing SiteDocs and 4insite?

I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow a process, with the work checked as it comes in. I would not switch expecting Pilla to take over certifications, contractor Lite, clock-in, bonus scorecards or vendor billing. The deep tables live on Pilla vs SiteDocs and Pilla vs 4insite.

Does SiteDocs or 4insite put AI inside the work?

I could not find an AI step inside a SiteDocs form. Checking is a mandatory item, a pass/fail, a photo and a supervisor signature. Analytics talks about smart suggestions on dashboards. I could not find an AI step inside a 4insite route, audit or attestation. Checking is a QR log, a photo, an attestation, a geofence and a human audit. Olivia summarises the dashboard page you are viewing, and takes occupant requests.

Where did these facts come from?

SiteDocs and 4insite claims on this page come from their own public docs. Pilla claims come from the current product.
