ProntoForms vs Clappia (2026): field-service forms with dispatch, or a no-code builder for custom field apps
I wrote this because I keep getting asked how ProntoForms and Clappia compare. I ran restaurants for years. I know the job: you want the floor to do the work without you chasing every check.
ProntoForms announced a rename to TrueContext in July 2023 and made the change in Q4 2023. You still search for ProntoForms. The live product is TrueContext, and prontoforms.com now sends you there. You build mobile forms, dispatch them to technicians, collect photo, sketch, signature and GPS proof, and you can write back to Salesforce, ServiceNow or ServiceMax if you buy those connectors.
Clappia is a no-code platform for custom business apps. You drag fields onto a form, add formulas and conditional sections, then attach workflow nodes for email, approvals, WhatsApp, REST calls and AI. Staff open those apps in a browser or in the Clappia iOS and Android launcher, including offline. Camera, GPS, signature, ratings and a 20-second mobile video sit on the form.
I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla can fetch, decide and act while the work is happening. You keep the judgement calls.
If you want to try it on a process you already run, open the canvas.
I would keep ProntoForms when I want field-service mobile forms with dispatch and back-office write-back. I would keep Clappia when I want to build custom field apps without code, with GPS tracking and a white-label option. I would pick Pilla when I want AI to act inside the work.
How did we compare them?
I ask the same twelve questions on every comparison. For ProntoForms I went back to TrueContext help and pricing. For Clappia I went back to Clappia help and the live pricing page. I read those public docs on 16 September 2026. Where they stay quiet, I stay quiet.
I am Liam Jones. I founded Pilla after more than ten years running hospitality operations, food safety and frontline teams. On 16 September 2026 I sat with TrueContext's Form Builder question types, Help Options, Conditional Logic, Audio Recording, File Upload, Teamwork, Dispatch Data Destination, the REST API and the live pricing page, then with Clappia's App Designer, conditional sections, workflows, the Get Data from AI block, camera and GPS fields, the mobile app, MCP setup and the live pricing page. I have not lived in a paid TrueContext or Clappia account for this write-up. I am telling you what their docs say.

- I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow the process without me chasing every check
- I would pick Pilla if I wanted the work checked as it comes in, and followed up when something needs me

ProntoForms sells field-service mobile forms, now as TrueContext. Clappia sells a no-code platform for custom field and process apps. They overlap on mobile forms, photos, GPS and signatures. They split on dispatch and Salesforce or ServiceNow write-back versus an app builder, GPS tracking and a white-label launcher. I built Pilla for a different job: AI acting inside the run.
What is ProntoForms, and when should you keep it?
ProntoForms holds field-service inspections, installs and repairs in one place. You prove the work with photos, sketches, signatures, GPS and timestamps. You dispatch the next visit, email or SMS the right people, and drop a branded document into Salesforce, ServiceNow or SharePoint. They announced a rename to TrueContext in July 2023 and made the change in Q4 2023. You still search for ProntoForms.
I would keep ProntoForms if I needed offline field-service forms with dispatch and Salesforce or ServiceNow write-back. That stack is a fair reason to stay.
Price: Digital from $400 per month for the team, billed annually. Intelligent and Elite custom.
Trial: Request a trial. Full platform, no card. I could not find a length in days.

- I could not find how many users sit in the $400 Digital floor
- I could not find DMs or group chats

What is Clappia, and when should you keep it?
Clappia lets a non-developer build a workplace of custom apps. You capture field evidence with photos, short video, audio, signatures and GPS. You run approvals and reminders after submit, and you show a live dashboard. You can connect Sheets, Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, databases and REST APIs. GPS attendance and live route tracking are real Clappia jobs.
I would keep Clappia if I needed to invent custom field apps myself, with GPS tracking and a white-label launcher. That suite is a fair reason to stay.
Price: Free $0 (up to 100 users, with caps). Starter $6 per user per month yearly, or $8 monthly. Professional $7.5 yearly, or $10 monthly. Enterprise quote.
Trial: Unlimited-time Free plan. Paid-feature trial via support. I could not find a self-serve 14-day Professional trial.

When is Pilla the third option?
If the job is field-service mobile forms with dispatch and Salesforce or ServiceNow write-back, keep ProntoForms. If the job is inventing custom field apps yourself, with GPS tracking and a white-label launcher, keep Clappia. I built Pilla for a different job. You draw the process on a canvas. The team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla checks the work as it comes in and follows up when something needs you. I did not build field-service dispatch, Salesforce write-back, live GPS tracking or a white-label launcher. If you need those, keep them on ProntoForms, Clappia or another vendor. You can open Pilla the same day. Starter is £49 a month with 500 processed workflows. Pro is £99 with 1,000, and adds AI automations inside Pilla. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of every Pro feature, with no card. People are unlimited.

Which should you pick?
I would keep ProntoForms if I needed offline field-service forms with dispatch and Salesforce or ServiceNow write-back. I would keep Clappia if I needed to invent custom field apps myself, with GPS tracking and a white-label launcher. If I wanted the work drawn on a canvas and AI acting inside the run, with DMs beside that work, I would use Pilla, and I would keep dispatch, GPS tracking and the app builder somewhere else.
Frequently asked questions
Is ProntoForms the same as Clappia?
No. They overlap on mobile forms, photos, GPS, signatures and offline capture. ProntoForms is built around field-service forms, dispatch and write-back to Salesforce or ServiceNow, with a public Digital floor of $400 a month for the team. Clappia is built around inventing custom field apps, with GPS tracking, a white-label launcher and a public per-user price.
Is ProntoForms still ProntoForms after TrueContext?
Yes. They announced a rename to TrueContext in July 2023 and made the change in Q4 2023. In September 2026, prontoforms.com sends you to truecontext.com. Help lives at docs.truecontext.com. The REST API still uses api.prontoforms.com. The mobile app is named TrueContext. Some app copy still mentions ProntoForms.
How much do ProntoForms and Clappia cost?
ProntoForms publishes Digital from $400 per month for the entire team, billed annually. Intelligent and Elite are custom quotes. Clappia publishes Free at $0 with caps, Starter at $6 a user a month on yearly billing, or $8 monthly, and Professional at $7.5 yearly, or $10 monthly. INR rates sit on the same Clappia pricing page. Enterprise is a quote. Pilla is Starter at £49 a month with 500 processed workflows, and Pro at £99 with 1,000. People are unlimited.
What evidence can ProntoForms and Clappia capture?
A ProntoForms form can take a photo, a sketch, an audio recording, a file, a signature, a number, a date, a checklist, a barcode and GPS. Sliders, steppers and button groups cover rating-style inputs. I could not find a Video question type. A Clappia app can take photos, files, drawn signatures, emoji ratings, numbers, dates, multi-select checkboxes, GPS and audio notes of 15 to 300 seconds. Live video is mobile-only and 20 seconds, or 30 seconds on white-label. The Clappia web app can upload a pre-recorded video.
Does ProntoForms or Clappia put AI inside the work?
ProntoForms Elite has AI Form Builder at design time, and AI Text Transformation that rewrites a text answer the technician must approve. Elite can also fetch live data or call an HTTP endpoint mid-form. Checking on Digital and Intelligent is rules: required fields, ranges, conditional logic and exceptions. Clappia has a Get Data from AI block on the form and an AI Workflow Node after submit, with a 30-second timeout on the form block. I could not find an AI step on either product that decides the next floor action on its own.
Can staff chat in ProntoForms or Clappia the way they would in Pilla?
ProntoForms Teamwork hands an incomplete form to the next person. Approvers leave short notes. Email and SMS fire on submit. Clappia reviewers add comments when they change a submission status. Workflows can post to Slack, Teams, WhatsApp, SMS or email. I could not find DMs or group chats in either product's help.
Do ProntoForms and Clappia offer an MCP server?
Clappia hosts MCP at mcp.clappia.com for Claude Desktop. Documented tools create and edit apps, workflows and charts. Setup help says a paid Claude account is required for that connector. I could not find a first-party ProntoForms MCP server. They publish a REST API, HTTP webhooks, and named connectors including Salesforce, ServiceNow and Microsoft.
Where does Pilla fit if I am comparing ProntoForms and Clappia?
I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow a process, with the work checked as it comes in. I would not switch expecting Pilla to take over field-service dispatch, Salesforce write-back, GPS tracking or a white-label launcher. The deep tables live on Pilla vs ProntoForms and Pilla vs Clappia.
