I wrote this because I keep getting asked how Tulip and Parsable compare. I ran restaurants for years. I know the job: you want the floor to do the work without you chasing every check.

Tulip is a frontline operations platform for manufacturing. You build no-code apps with steps, widgets and triggers. The floor runs them in Tulip Player on a station PC, tablet, phone or headset. Apps collect photos, files and signatures, talk to machines and ERPs, and write completions. You can add automations, Vision, GxP record history and, in open beta, AI agents.

CAI Software bought Parsable in September 2024. The product is still branded Parsable. You build no-code job templates, collect photo, video, audio and signature proof, and you can add SAP, MES, CMMS and sensors if you buy those connections.

I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla can fetch, decide and act while the work is happening. You keep the judgement calls.

If you want to try it on a process you already run, open the canvas.

I would keep Tulip when I want station apps, machines and GxP records together. I would keep Parsable when I want digital SOPs with plant-floor chat and industrial integrations. I would pick Pilla when I want AI to act inside the work.

How did we compare them?

I ask the same twelve questions on every comparison. For Tulip I went back to support help, plans and the trial page. For Parsable I went back to public product pages, the CAI product page, API docs and app listings. I read those public docs on 16 September 2026. Where they stay quiet, I stay quiet.

I am Liam Jones. I founded Pilla after more than ten years running hospitality operations, food safety and frontline teams. On 16 September 2026 I sat with Tulip's App Editor, work-instruction templates, input widgets, completions, automations, the AI chat widget, MCP setup and the live plans and trial pages, then with Parsable's product and connected-work pages, AI analytics, get-demo, the CAI Parsable product page, field types and messaging in the public API, and the Frontline iOS listing. Help at help.parsable.com sends you to a Zendesk login, so I did not use those articles. I have not lived in a paid Tulip or Parsable account for this write-up. I am telling you what their public docs say.

What should you take away?

  • I would keep Tulip if I needed station apps, machine data, Vision and GxP records from one vendor
  • I would keep Parsable if I needed digital SOPs, plant-floor chat and industrial integrations from one vendor
  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow the process without me chasing every check
  • I would pick Pilla if I wanted the work checked as it comes in, and followed up when something needs me

Tulip sells a frontline operations platform for manufacturing. Parsable sells a connected worker platform for digital work instructions. They overlap on digital procedures, photos and plant connections. They split on station apps, machines and GxP records versus plant-floor chat and industrial integrations. I built Pilla for a different job: AI acting inside the run.

What is Tulip, and when should you keep it?

Tulip holds digital work instructions, in-line quality, machine data and GxP completions in one place. You run apps in Player at the station. You prove the work with photos, files, signatures and timestamps. You can add Vision cameras, edge devices and a regulated validation pack.

I would keep Tulip if I needed station apps, machine data, Vision and GxP records from one vendor. That factory stack is a fair reason to stay.

Price: Essentials $100 per interface per month billed annually, 10-interface minimum. Professional $250 per interface per month billed annually. Enterprise and Regulated Industries on request.

Trial: Demo, Experience Center, and a trial instance through an account representative. I could not find a self-serve trial on the live trial page.

Why people stay on Tulip

  • Station apps, machine data and GxP records in one place
  • Public Essentials and Professional prices
  • MCP listed as free on every plan
  • Player on phone, tablet, desktop and wearables

Why people look

  • You pay per interface, with a 10-interface minimum
  • Extra AI actions, machines and Vision are add-ons
  • I could not find DMs or group chats
  • Enterprise and Regulated Industries are quotes

What is Parsable, and when should you keep it?

Parsable holds changeover, CIL, LOTO, quality and safety procedures in one place. You prove the work with timestamps and media. You raise issues when something is off. Remote experts join in chat. SOP edits push to the floor. Jobs can connect to ERP, MES, CMMS and, if you buy it, sensors. CAI Software bought Parsable in September 2024. In September 2026 the product is still branded Parsable.

I would keep Parsable if I needed digital SOPs, plant-floor chat and industrial integrations from one vendor. That connected-worker suite is a fair reason to stay.

Price: No public software price. Sales quote.

Trial: Demo and two procedures after fit. No advertised self-serve trial.

Why people stay on Parsable

  • Digital SOPs, issues and plant-floor chat in one product
  • Photos, video, audio, files and signatures on a job
  • SAP, MES and CMMS if you buy those connections
  • Public API, webhooks and applets

Why people look

  • No public software price
  • I could not find an AI step inside a job
  • I could not find an MCP server
  • Help sits behind a login

When is Pilla the third option?

If the job is station apps plus machines and GxP records, keep Tulip. If the job is digital SOPs plus plant-floor chat and industrial integrations, keep Parsable. I built Pilla for a different job. You draw the process on a canvas. The team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla checks the work as it comes in and follows up when something needs you. I did not build shift scheduling, payroll, HR, MES, machines or Part 11. If you need those, keep them on Tulip, Parsable or another vendor. You can open Pilla the same day. Starter is £49 a month with 500 processed workflows. Pro is £99 with 1,000, and adds AI automations inside Pilla. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of every Pro feature, with no card. People are unlimited.

Which should you pick?

I would keep Tulip if I needed station apps, machine data, Vision and GxP records from one vendor. I would keep Parsable if I needed digital SOPs, plant-floor chat and industrial integrations from one vendor. If I wanted the work drawn on a canvas and AI acting inside the run, with DMs and MCP, I would use Pilla, and I would keep MES, machines, Vision, Part 11, SAP and CMMS somewhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tulip the same as Parsable?

No. They overlap on digital procedures, photos and plant connections. Tulip is built around station apps, machine data, Vision and GxP records, with a public per-interface price. Parsable is built around digital SOPs, plant-floor chat and industrial integrations, and they quote you.

Is Parsable still Parsable after CAI bought it?

Yes. CAI Software, LLC acquired Parsable, Inc. on 25 September 2024. In September 2026 the product is still branded Parsable at parsable.com. Footer copyright is CAI Software, LLC. Parent marketing lives at caisoft.com/products/parsable. Help at help.parsable.com sends you to a Zendesk login.

How much do Tulip and Parsable cost?

Tulip publishes Essentials at $100 per interface per month billed annually, with a 10-interface minimum. Professional is $250. Enterprise and Regulated Industries are quotes. Extra AI actions, automation tasks, machines and Vision are add-ons. Parsable quotes you. I could not find a public software price. Pilla is Starter at £49 a month with 500 processed workflows, and Pro at £99 with 1,000. People are unlimited.

Does Tulip check the work with AI the way Parsable does?

They split. On Tulip, required fields, number ranges, OCR, Vision and connector calls check the work inside the app. Automations can run an AI Prompt Action. AI agents are documented as open beta. On Parsable, if/then, number ranges, deviations and applets do the checking. Aladdin and anomaly detection sit on the analytics. A 2026 CAI article talks about AI-generated SOPs and an operator-assist chatbot. I could not find an AI step inside a Parsable job that fetches, decides and acts.

Where does Pilla fit if I am comparing Tulip and Parsable?

I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow a process, with the work checked as it comes in. I would not switch expecting Pilla to take over station apps, machines, Vision, GxP records, SAP, MES or CMMS. The deep tables live on Pilla vs Tulip and Pilla vs Parsable.
