GoCanvas vs ProntoForms (2026): mobile forms with dispatch and PDFs, or field-service forms with Salesforce write-back
I wrote this because I keep getting asked how GoCanvas and ProntoForms compare. I ran restaurants for years. I know the job: you want the floor to do the work without you chasing every check.
GoCanvas is a field operations and inspections platform. You turn paper work orders, inspections, checklists and daily reports into mobile forms. The crew fills them on a phone, tablet, Windows desktop or the web client, including offline on mobile. Dispatch sends the next job. You get a PDF and structured data back. Max adds Follow-Up Tasks on failed checks. AI auto-builds a form from a PDF.
ProntoForms announced a rename to TrueContext in July 2023 and made the change in Q4 2023. You still search for ProntoForms. The live product is TrueContext, and prontoforms.com now sends you there. You build mobile forms, dispatch them to technicians, collect photo, sketch, signature and GPS proof, and you can write back to Salesforce, ServiceNow or ServiceMax if you buy those connectors.
I built Pilla so you can turn a process you already know into a workflow on a canvas. Your team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla can fetch, decide and act while the work is happening. You keep the judgement calls.
If you want to try it on a process you already run, open the canvas.
I would keep GoCanvas when I want mobile forms bundled with dispatch and PDF reports. I would keep ProntoForms when I want field-service mobile forms with dispatch and back-office write-back. I would pick Pilla when I want AI to act inside the work.
How did we compare them?
I ask the same twelve questions on every comparison. For GoCanvas I went back to their help and the packages page. For ProntoForms I went back to TrueContext help and the live pricing page. I read those public docs on 16 September 2026. Where they stay quiet, I stay quiet.
I am Liam Jones. I founded Pilla after more than ten years running hospitality operations, food safety and frontline teams. On 16 September 2026 I sat with GoCanvas's Basic Form Builder, Advanced Form Builder, field types, Follow-Up Tasks, Workflow, Dispatch, the API and the packages page, then with TrueContext's Form Builder question types, Help Options, Conditional Logic, Teamwork, Dispatch Data Destination, the REST API and the live pricing page. I have not lived in a paid GoCanvas or TrueContext account for this write-up. I am telling you what their docs say.

GoCanvas sells digital forms inside a field operations platform. ProntoForms sells field-service mobile forms, now as TrueContext. They overlap on mobile forms, dispatch, PDFs and photo proof. They split on public per-user prices and video capture versus Salesforce write-back and audio. I built Pilla for a different job: AI acting inside the run.
What is GoCanvas, and when should you keep it?
GoCanvas holds field forms in one place. You prove the job with photos, signatures, GPS and timestamps, and you send a branded PDF. Dispatch and scheduled repeats send the form to the crew. Workflow hands a submission to a supervisor. Failed checks can become Follow-Up Tasks on Max. You can push the data into QuickBooks, Salesforce, Procore or a spreadsheet.
I would keep GoCanvas if I needed mobile forms plus dispatch and PDF reports from one vendor. That forms and dispatch product is a fair reason to stay.
Price: Essentials $29, Pro $39, Max $49 per user per month. 3-user minimum, billed annually.
Trial: Documented trial. I could not find a length in days.
Why people stay on GoCanvas
- Forms, dispatch and branded PDFs in one product
- Public Essentials, Pro and Max prices
- Video capture on Pro and Max
- API, webhooks and a long integrations list
Why people look
- You pay per user, with a three-user minimum
- I could not find DMs or group chats
- I could not find an audio field
- I could not find an AI step inside a submission
What is ProntoForms, and when should you keep it?
ProntoForms holds field-service inspections, installs and repairs in one place. You prove the work with photos, sketches, signatures, GPS and timestamps. You dispatch the next visit, email or SMS the right people, and drop a branded document into Salesforce, ServiceNow or SharePoint. They announced a rename to TrueContext in July 2023 and made the change in Q4 2023. You still search for ProntoForms.
I would keep ProntoForms if I needed offline field-service forms with dispatch and Salesforce or ServiceNow write-back from one vendor. That stack is a fair reason to stay.
Price: Digital from $400 per month for the team, billed annually. Intelligent and Elite custom.
Trial: Request a trial. Full platform, no card. I could not find a length in days.

When is Pilla the third option?
If the job is mobile forms plus dispatch and branded PDFs, keep GoCanvas. If the job is field-service forms plus Salesforce or ServiceNow write-back, keep ProntoForms. I built Pilla for a different job. You draw the process on a canvas. The team runs it on a phone, tablet or the web app. Pilla checks the work as it comes in and follows up when something needs you. I did not build shift scheduling, payroll, HR, dispatch calendars or Salesforce write-back. If you need those, keep them on GoCanvas, ProntoForms or another vendor. You can open Pilla the same day. Starter is £49 a month with 500 processed workflows. Pro is £99 with 1,000, and adds AI automations inside Pilla. Every new account gets a 14-day trial of every Pro feature, with no card. People are unlimited.

Which should you pick?
I would keep GoCanvas if I needed mobile forms, dispatch and branded PDFs from one vendor. I would keep ProntoForms if I needed offline field-service forms with dispatch and Salesforce or ServiceNow write-back from one vendor. If I wanted the work drawn on a canvas and AI acting inside the run, with DMs and MCP, I would use Pilla, and I would keep dispatch, branded PDFs and Salesforce write-back somewhere else.

No. They overlap on mobile forms, dispatch, PDFs and photo proof. GoCanvas is built around field forms, dispatch and branded PDFs, with a public per-user price. ProntoForms is built around field-service forms with write-back to Salesforce or ServiceNow, and they quote Intelligent and Elite.
Is ProntoForms still ProntoForms after TrueContext?
The company rebranded to TrueContext. They announced it in July 2023 and made the change in Q4 2023. In September 2026, prontoforms.com sends you to truecontext.com. Help lives at docs.truecontext.com. The REST API still uses api.prontoforms.com. The mobile app is named TrueContext. Some app copy still mentions ProntoForms.
How much do GoCanvas and ProntoForms cost?
GoCanvas charges per user. Essentials is $29 a month, Pro is $39 and Max is $49, with a three-user minimum billed annually. ProntoForms Digital starts at $400 per month for the entire team, billed annually. Intelligent and Elite are custom quotes. I could not find how many users sit in that $400 floor. What evidence can GoCanvas and ProntoForms capture?
Both take photos, signatures, numbers, checklists, dates and GPS. GoCanvas adds video on Pro and Max, with a 15-second cap, and a file attachment field. I could not find an audio field on GoCanvas. ProntoForms adds audio recordings, sketches and file uploads. I could not find a Video question type on ProntoForms.
Where does Pilla fit if I am comparing GoCanvas and ProntoForms?
I would pick Pilla if I wanted the floor to follow a process, with the work checked as it comes in. I would not switch expecting Pilla to take over dispatch, branded PDFs or Salesforce write-back. The deep tables live on Pilla vs GoCanvas and Pilla vs ProntoForms.
